Selling on the Marketplace

Bubble Marketplace Policies is the authoritative source about marketplace policies. In the event of discrepancies with this documentation, the Marketplace Policies take precedence.)

The Bubble Marketplace is a vibrant platform for selling templates and plugins. While you can offer these items for free, if you choose to sell them, you’ll need to register as a seller to receive payouts. Payouts are made directly to you, with Bubble taking a fee on each transaction.

Before you create a seller profile

Marketplace policies

We strongly encourage you to read through our Bubble Marketplace Policies to familiarize yourself with the requirements and guidelines for selling templates and plugins on the Bubble Marketplace. In the marketplace policies document you will also find the up-to-date seller commission.

Payouts

Payouts to marketplace creators are made via Stripe, and you need an active Stripe account to receive them. Please ensure that your Stripe account and profile is correctly set up and all compliance aspects are covered before you start creating content for the marketplace.

For users in countries affected by specific regulations, we also offer payouts via PayPal. Please note that this is a manual registration and approval process, and we encourage all users who can use Stripe to opt for that option instead.

Defining your seller identity

To set up and manage your marketplace profile, sign in to your Bubble account and navigate to the Marketplace profile page. Use the form to set your profile picture, name, website and other details.

The information you provide in the seller profile form is publicly visible. Please keep this in mind when entering details like your location. Instead of listing your full address, consider only including your city and country.

Setting up payouts

Stripe

To set up Stripe, go to the Marketplace settings page, and follow the Steps to connect your Stripe account with your Bubble Marketplace account.

If Stripe isn’t supported in your country or certain restrictions apply (like Stripe’s limitations on transfers from non-India accounts to India-based accounts), you can explore using PayPal as an alternative, if available.

Setting up your Stripe account

To set up your Stripe account, follow these steps:

  1. Sign in to your Bubble account.

  2. Navigate to the Bubble account page, and click Marketplace in the left-hand navigation.

  3. Click the Set up Stripe button, and follow the instructions.

Note that compliance aspects such as (but not limited to) providing identification and tax information must be managed with Stripe directly.

Paypal

To use Paypal for Marketplace payouts, please follow the steps below:

  1. Set up your Marketplace account on the Marketplace profile page.

  2. Set up the PayPal account where you want to receive payouts.

  3. Reach out to Success, or get in touch via the Bubble chatbot.

  4. Include the following:

    1. Your Bubble marketplace account email address.

    2. Your PayPal account email address.

Setting up your Paypal account

When choosing to use PayPal for receiving payouts, you must follow PayPal’s steps to create and set up your account. This part of the process is managed by PayPal and may change over time. Please keep the following points in mind when setting up your PayPal account:

  • Payout acceptance: According to PayPal’s policies, you may have to accept your payouts each month, or they will be returned after 30 days. If you have a Premium or Business account, you can adjust your payout receiving preferences to automatically accept all payouts from Bubble.

  • Country-specific requirements: PayPal’s account setup and usage policies vary by country. For instance, some countries, like India, require additional identity verification, while others may only accept certain credit cards (e.g., Egypt only accepting Visa). It’s important to check your country’s specific policies to avoid account errors.

Common account errors

Improper account setup can result in declined payouts. For example:

  • RISK_DECLINE: Indian users may encounter this issue if they haven’t set up additional rules required by PayPal. You can find more information here.

  • REGULATORY_BLOCKED: Some countries only accept specific credit cards.

Bubble is not responsible for declined payouts due to incorrect account setup, so please ensure your account meets PayPal’s requirements.

Note that compliance aspects such as (but not limited to) providing identification and tax information must be managed with Paypal directly.
